Captain Crunch French Toast
The Blue Moon Cafe in Fells Point could be heaven on earth! The atmosphere is cozy, casual and cool; the staff is wonderful; and the food is unbelievable. Yes, there is usually a line but, trust me, wait! It is worth the wait! It is a good sign when there is a line. It does seem that alot of tourists come since it was featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" but the locals go because it is yummy!
I advise you to go with an empty stomach - gas tank on E. Start with a gigantic warmed cinnamon bun for an appetizer. Yes, I said appetizer. The cinnamon buns are huge and dripping with frosting. Dig in and warm up the belly for your meal.
Next, one of you must order the Captain Crunch French Toast - since it is one of their signature dishes. WOW! It is better than sex. How do they make it so perfectly coated and crispy? It is a mystery to me. Not to mention the gianormous strawberries and fresh blueberries on top! I can't eat the entire dish on my own but I do require some bites off of someone else's plate :)
I adore eggs more than anything - I could eat breakfast 24-7. Let me just describe the dish I recently got....eggs, bacon & cheese on a biscut smothered in sausage gravy with their melt-in-your-mouth shoe-string hash browns on the side (and soaking in sausage gravy)....I am in happy tummy land!
The Blue Moon Cafe is wonderful! The next time you are going out to eat - drive right by Denny's and iHop and head to The Blue Moon Cafe! I am in love!
